Final Project (EUPMT): Feedback

After the project's assessment I was contacted by two local TV channels from the Maresme region to interview me in relation to my final project, which had been marked 10, an article was published in Mataró's local online newspaper, Capgròs, and Ràdio 4, from RNE, phoned me for another interview some days later.
The recording of the former has been very kindly sent to me by Maiola, who interviewed me, and I want to thank her, not just for this favour but for the interview, which was the one I felt more comfortable at.

Final Project (EUPMT)

As my final project for the “Graduat en Mitjans Audiovisuals” at my university in Mataró (Catalunya, Spain), I created an interactive multimedia application for CD-ROM. The following posts will talk about that project and its creation process.

Multimedia applications consist of several media (audio, image, animation, text and video) that transmit some information. The higher the quality of these elements, the richer the application. But another important characteristic of these applications is the level of interactivity they offer to the user.

Interactivity is the dialogue between the user and the computer. The former must be able not to just sit and receive the information from the screen but to influence the application and to determine its behaviour.

My project took a traditional tale as a narrative basis to offer different visions of its content. Then presented them to the user as the opportunity to choose from different endings. Since the book, the classical medium for stories, had been exchanged for an up-to-date blend of multimedia elements, so should the story. That way, the tale tries to reflect a modern vision of women and couple relationships while trying to explain each ending with a different mood.

The software used was Flash 8, to create the basic interface of the application, and the ActionScript code, Nuendo 3, for the voice-overs and other sounds' edition, and Photohop CS2 for the drawings, which I did by using a digital tablet.

tired of work

Just a short simple animation I did yesterday with Flash, based on a girl working at the uni's macs room. I wanted to practice the simulation of a camera movement by moving the background elements.
I'll try to do another version with a longer camera movement...
