The Staves - Winter Trees
Un hermoso videoclip hecho por miembros de Aardman en un estilo muy alejado al trabajo habitual del estudio, combinando Flash y CG :) Me encanta el ambiente que crean con las luces, y el diseño de los personajes y elementos es muy delicado y original.

Un corto chulo y el making of, que hizo que me gustara más aún el corto :) Es muy interesante ver el proceso, sobre todo en la parte en que dividen la pantalla en 4 para mostrar el layout 3D, el borrador de la animación en flash, el pasado a limpio en papel y la animación 3D, para luego mostrarte el plano resultante.

The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore
Un corto muy bonito sobre la magia de los libros, nominado a los Oscar. Está hecho con miniaturas, animación por ordenador y 2d. La música también me gusta mucho. Y me gusta el personaje del libro de Humpty Dumpty, que anima sus ilustraciones para expresarse haciendo pasar sus páginas :)
Chico & Rita
Beautiful film by Fernando Trueba, Javier Mariscal and Tono Errando :) This is part of the making of and shows one of my favourite shots, when Rita dances and turns in a 3d created environment to the rhythm of the piano played by Chico.
I find it interesting when Mariscal points out their use of clean lines shaping the characters' profile, with just the exact amount of lines to place an eye or the character's mouth, no creases and a single, plain colour with a simple shading to give volume.
In another video they mention something else I'd noticed in the film, that is the movements of the camera. By first shooting the scenes with real actors, they can give the animation that same effect of movement recorded by the camera, making it very appealing and realistic.
